    International Drug Network Entering Medan Bring Sabu 134 Kg

    The Narcotic Investigation Center (NIC) team at the Directorate of Drug Crime at Police Headquarters in cooperation with the North Sumatra Police Subdivision Police revealed the actions of international drug networks trying to smuggle 134 kilograms (kg) of shabu.

    Head of Police Public Relations of North Sumatra Police Commissioner Rina Sari Ginting said the drug group is a network of Malaysia, Aceh, Medan, and Jakarta. The arrest took place on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at around 03:00 pm.

    "The team carried out the arrest at the scene of the crime scene at Jalan Platina Medan in which the team managed to secure a man with the initials of 41-year-old SPD als Din," Rina said in Medan on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

    Rina explained that the 134 kilogram sabu was secured from SPD hands with details broken down in three packs each weighing 32 kg of shabu, 59 kg of shabu, and 43 kg of shabu.

    After arresting the SPD, the officer then develops the investigation to a different location. On Sunday, September 3, 2017, at around 9am, the team again arrested members of the international drug network at Jalan Listrik, No. 15, Petisah Tengah District, Medan Baru Sub-district.

    "At the second crime scene, the team secured a man named AK aka Adek, aged 34, a resident of Gampong Aceh, the role of a suspect as a courier from Aceh to Medan," Rina said.

    Disclosure of drug smuggling cases involving international networks through Medan repeatedly occurred.
